Goals & Objectives

This observership offers participants a firsthand look into the critical role of cath lab technicians in supporting interventional cardiology procedures. Goals include developing an understanding of the technical and procedural aspects of the cath lab and the responsibilities involved in assisting cardiac interventions. Objectives are:

  • Observing patient preparation, equipment setup, and safety protocols for cath lab procedures.
  • Gaining exposure to procedures such as angioplasties and catheterizations, and understanding the technician’s role in supporting the cardiology team.
  • Learning to assist with and maintain equipment, ensuring its readiness for each procedure.
  • Familiarizing with patient monitoring and immediate response protocols during procedures.
